CITIZENTEA’s direct trade Matcha comes from the Uji, Kyoto region of Japan, which is considered the birthplace of Japanese green tea and one of the most famous Matcha producing regions in the world.
With rolling hills, warm days, cool nights and nutrient-rich soil, Uji produces a very high quality green tea leaf. The leaf is then steamed, deveined and stone-ground producing a fine powder which is Matcha. Matcha has 10x the benefits of regular green tea, and 105x the antioxidants of pomegranates. Matcha has been said to fight cancer, improve concentration, detox the body and assist in weight loss. Our Superior grade has a smooth and mellow flavour and is less bitter than other Matcha types, making it the perfect introduction to the world of Matcha.
